AMRI Heart Center
The AMRI Heart Center has an unrivalled reputation for innovation and research; and utilizes the most sophisticated techniques and equipments in detecting and treating all forms of heart disease. Its the only cardiology department in India to be approved by the prestigious USFDA for the conduct of clinical trials. Our specialists are trained to customize their treatment to individual needs. We have committed ourselves to the service of the community through a unique combination of low costs and high treatment standards.
Heart Clinic - This is where interaction between our physician specialist and patient take place. Overall risk of individual will be assessed the treatment or prevention strategy planned.
Chest pain - AMRI Heart Center recognizes the various etiology of the chest discomfort, most of which are benign but some can be lethal. Single stop phone call can make a different in life and dead situation. One phone call can initiate urgent pick up by Mobile Critical Care Unit. Field physician Cardiologist can quickly triage the patient for appropriate path. In case of Heart or Acute Coronary Attack, rapid administration of clotlysis agent can be life saving. In others, urgent transport to Cardiac Catheterization facility for Balloon Angioplasty procedure can be done. Call for immediate service or Mobile Critical Care Unit at (033) 65500000.
Non-Invasive - Most of the initial work up for those at risk or suspicious of having heart disease can be done with simple and painless yet sophisticated technology.
Electrocardiography (ECG) – is a method for basic investigation for several heart diseases.
Exercise Stress Test (EST) is used to monitor the ECG and blood pressure during exercise and possible cause of the cheat pain.
Echocardiography (Echo) is a method of using ultrasound to exam the heart and inside structure.
Exercise Stress Echo is used to monitor the heart and the condition of the muscles of the heart, before and after exercising.
Dynamic Electrocardiography (DCG)/ Holter monitor is an ECG but registering the heartbeat for 24 hours. This method is used to see if the heartbeat is normal and to indicate any cause of palpitation.
Dobutamine Stress Echo uses the drug “Dobutamine” to make heart beat faster as if during exercise.
Transesophageal Echo is a technique used when an echocardiography does not give enough detailed information.
Tilt Table Test is used for patients who experience a dysfunction of an automatic nervous system which control the heart.
Carotid Duplex Scan is used to evaluate the narrowing of the carotid vessel, by using ultrasound technology.
Invasive - Cardiac Catheterization is an invasive procedure, which is used to evaluate the condition of the heart valve and its vessels. It can also be sued to determine if there is any stenosis or obstruction of the arteries, which supply blood to heart muscles.
Precutaneous Transluminal Coronary Angioplasty (PTCA) (with or without stent) is a technique used to open up the stenotic vessels by placing a 'balloon" with or without a stent into the stenotic area of the blood vessels.
Valvulopasty is a technique that is used to enlarge the stenotic heart valves, without having to change or repair the valves by an operation.
Pacemaker Implantation is used to treat a slow heartbeat.
Automatic Implant able Cardioverter Defibrillator (AICD) Implantation is used, just like the pacemaker, for patients who run a risk to get a (fatal) heart attack. The AICD is more advanced than a pacemaker. The AICD converts the heart's electrical impulse to better-organized beating.
Radio-frequency Catheter Ablation - the Radio-frequency Catheter Ablation is used for patients who have experienced palpitation (fast heartbeat), caused by an abnormal electrical impulse in the heart.
Surgery - Heart Surgery requires a highly experienced and dedicated team of specialists. The team of the Cardiac surgeons and specialized Nurses work closely together AMRI Heart Center . They monitor and observe the patient's condition from very beginning throughout postoperative period.
Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery - is used for patients who suffer from ischemic heart diseases. The cardiac surgeons use this technique either with or without a heart-lung machine. Avoiding the heart lung machine eliminates all of its potential side effects.
Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery - The specialists use a small incision to avoid the damage to the tissue. This leaves the patient with less pain, less complication and fast recovery.
All Arterial Conduits - Using arterial conduits eliminates leg incision, arterial conduits last longer than the commonly used saphenous vein.
We offer the best surgical treatment of coronary artery disease in the eastern part of India by a combination of small incision, off-pump surgery and all artery conduits.
Besides coronary artery bypass surgery, we also provide all together Cardio-Thoracic Surgeries :
Heart Valve Surgery
Vascular Surgery
Aorta, Carotid and other Arterial Surgery
Arrhythmia Surgery
Cardiac Rehabilitation - Cardiac Rehabilitation program is for the rehabilitation of cardiac patients and those with high risk of heart disease.
High Technology with Standard Medical Equipments :
ECG
4D Echo
Trans-esophageal echo
Tread Mill test
3D and 4D live echocardiography (AMRI is one of the two centers in India to be equipped with this facility)
Holter
Angiography laboratory (AMRI is the only center in the northeast to have a double-tube facility in angiography)
The double-tube cathlab has the following features :
Superior quality imaging; significantly low toxic dye dosage
Makes multiple heart shots possible, reducing camera exposure
Facilitates child comfort in cardiac angiography
Conforms to international best practices
Cardiac cathlab facilities (3-D imaging of the brain blood vessels) and facilities for angioplasty of brain artery
A modern external counter pulsation - EECP (significantly low-cost non-surgical treatment)
EP machine for treatment of heartbeat irregularities
Bypass surgery in a 'beating' heart with total arterial conduit
Valve conservation surgeries
Minimal access CT surgeries
