The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center is a diagnostic and treatment facility, with an emphasis on non-operative treatment including physical therapy, occupational therapy, patient education, and body mechanics. While the majority of conditions are responsive to non-operative therapy, our physicians will readily refer to and work closely with any other specialists or surgeons our patients may require.
Specialists in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) focus on people's function and enhancing their quality of life, no matter what the medical problem. PM&R physicians (called physiatrists) have training that emphasizes neurologic, orthopedic, rheumatologic and cardiopulmonary care, since abnormalities in these body systems frequently interfere with day-to-day functioning. |
